Dr Steffen Freitag, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany
Steffen Freitag is a Research Group Leader at the Institute for Structural Mechanics at Ruhr University Bochum. His research interests are Artificial Neural Networks, Numerical Simulation and Optimization with Uncertain Data, and Structural Reliability. Steffen Freitag studied Civil Engineering at TU Dresden and afterwards worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Structural Analysis. In 2010, he obtained the academic degree Dr.-Ing. (PhD) from TU Dresden. He was a postdoctoral visiting scholar (2011–2012) within the Center for Reliable Engineering Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. Steffen Freitag has been honored with the Karl-Arnold-Award 2017.
